Got Plastered

I had the great pleasure of spending my day at The Homestead with some of the most creative and soul soothing ladies I've ever known. We took a class with Sue Pelletier and got plaster all over ourselves and Sallianne's lawn. This was my first class with Sue and it won't be my last.

We took little dresses and sweaters, submerged them in plaster, wrung them out, arranged them on canvases and set them in the sun to dry. Then we went to town creating backgrounds with vintage papers, cheesecloth, lace, quilt pieces, flowers, buttons and anything else that drew our eyes. Sue had so much to choose from. We painted the dresses and sweaters, some painted the flowers.

No two were even close to the same. The variety was stunning. My two finished pieces:

It was a perfect day in the perfect setting. I played with plaster, paint, oil pastels, heavy gel medium, glitter, vintage papers and had a lot of good laughs. I just love these ladies.
